The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy is responsible for the strategic development and operation of Slovenia’s transport and energy systems. In the field of transport, it plans, maintains, manages and develops rail, road, air, cableway and maritime infrastructure, as well as inland waterway navigation. Special attention is paid to traffic safety and to ensuring modern, efficient, and environmentally friendly transportation. In the field of energy, the Ministry ensures a reliable and efficient energy supply and develops modern energy policies with an emphasis on accelerating the increase in the share of renewable energy sources. These are key to environmental protection, energy self-sufficiency and climate change mitigation. The Ministry also plays a key role in the development of public passenger transport, the promotion of sustainable mobility and the shaping transport policy that supports Slovenia’s successful green transition.
